Under 18 years of Age...Can they attend SLAA meetings?

If a 14, 15 ,16 year old persons identifies themself as a sex love and relationship addiction can they come to any SLAA meeting? 

The national SLAA office said to ask the inter group first.

Does our inter group have a code or rule regarding this issue.

We have had a few younger

We have had a few younger girls attend our wonmen's only meeting but the parents had agreed to it. I think each situation and maturity level of the child would play into affect. I think within each group they should take a vote or group consious depending on the situation. Some other group members may not feel comfortable sharing in front of a child. Or they could have a break out meeting with the teen.

Dont know of any meetings near Lilburn I am really not sure where that is. I know there is not any meetings that I am aware of near cumming either, There is a men's Christian SA type meeting in Woodstock but its not an offcial SLAA or SA meeting. There is one in Norcross on Monday evenings or the Buckhead meetings those might be the closest ones.

SLAA guidelines for persons under the age of 18

Hi Debra

Thank you for your question to the AASG forum.

First we do not yet have an SLAA Intergroup in metro Atlanta.

Second if SLAA Fellowship Wide Services referred you to SLAA Intergroup then I think this question's answer would be determined by each SLAA group and its group autonomy.  My own experience in another "S" Fellowship is that a man who attended the group regularly asked for a group conscience meeting the same night he brought his 16 yrs old son that he left in the car.  The group conscience voted yes for that night and the 16 yrs old boy joined our group that one night.   I thik that both the father and son have not returned to that meeting.
